| Interior view of San Lorenzo, Florence |
| |
|
San Lorenzo is probably Florence's oldest church, it is a restrained Renaissance
masterpiece designed by Filippo Brunelleschi and scattered with works of art by Michelangelo,
Donatello, and Filipino Lippi.
In the above photo we see an architectural masterpiece, the Biblioteca Medicea Laurenziana - the Medici Library. It was wholly or partly built by Michelangelo.
The church was dedicated to the martyred St. Lawrence (Lorenzo) and
St. Zenobius, Florence's first bishop.
